Termites, shear beetles, woodwheels, wasps of woodpeckers, tumblers and whiteheads 108 insect species that live in wood. The wood is protected before it is settled and treated when they have already entered.
Preventive protection
The goal is that xylophageal insects do not settle in the tree at all. Wood mass, at a lower or higher depth, permeates with chemical substances that repel attack.
How long the protection lasts depends on the means itself, the method of application and the place where the tree stands. The choice of means and the depth of protection is determined according to the purpose it is not the same whether the tree serves outside or in the building and according to how many objects and constructive parts are endangered.
Preventive protection lasts until the moment of installation or definitive processing of wood mass.
Direct protection
The repressive measures go when the insects or their larvae are already in the tree. The goal is to destroy them and prevent further damage.
The most reliable are chemical methods. Gaseous insecticides fumigants have vapors that quickly penetrate the hallways and destroy insects in them. Liquids with dissolved insecticidal substances are used with them, which are easy to absorb into wood.
How to apply
- Spraying and coating
- Short soaking, five to fifteen minutes, in cold or hot canning solutions
- Partial protection of parts of the structure that touch the ground or other materials and are exposed to the atmosphere
- Injection into openings, by injection (“Cobra system”)
- Bandage protection
- Impregnation in pools, and with alternating hot and cold solutions
- Impregnation in living condition and via osmosis
- Infiltration by Busheri procedure
- Impregnation under pressure, complete and partial, in cylinder (Riping II and IV)
What it includes
- Gas disinfection of wood pests in roof structures, log cabins and wooden houses, under a tarp or foil
- Gas disinfection of furniture, museum items and antiques in the chamber
- Insect control of wood that will stand outside beams, lampposts, poles, railway thresholds by submerging in hot and cold solutions
- Partial protection of wood by injecting solution
- Full impregnation in the cylinder under pressure
- Suppression of wood pests by spraying and coating

- What is the difference between preventive and direct protection?
Preventive is done before insects attack wood mass is permeated with protective substances and thus remains until implanted or definitive processing. It is directly repressed and applied when insects or larvae are already in the tree.
- Is it possible to repair the tree that the insects have already entered?
Gaseous insecticides are used, the steam of which quickly penetrates the corridors in the tree, and liquids with dissolved insecticidal substances that are easily absorbed.
- What can all be treated?
Roof structures, log cabins and wooden houses under tarpaulin or foil; furniture, museum items and antiques in the chamber; beams, lampposts, columns and railway thresholds.
- What materials are used to conserve wood?
Inorganic salts soluble in water, terra preparations, organic synthetic agents soluble in organic solvents, mixtures of oil and inorganic salts, emulsions and artificial resins.
