Occupational safety and health adviser
« Occupational safety and fire protectionRisk assessment, staff training, statutory records and deadline tracking for companies that have no occupational safety specialist of their own or want to take some of the load off the one they have.
What we take on
The Law on Occupational Safety and Health (Official Gazette of RS, No. 35/2023) requires every employer to assess workplace risks, train employees for safe work and keep statutory records. In a smaller company this usually falls to the owner or the accountant, and in a larger one to someone who already has another job.
We take over this work in full or only the part you are missing, from the risk assessment act to records, training and dealing with the labour inspectorate. The work is done on site: in the plant, at the fuel station, in the warehouse or in the field.
Evidence of professional qualifications is provided with the quote.
Scope
- Risk assessment act for all workplaces, and amendments when equipment, technology or work organisation change
- Identifying high-risk workplaces and measures to reduce the risk
- Safety training for employees on hiring, transfer and introduction of new equipment, with a knowledge check
- Safe-work instructions for machinery, equipment and confined spaces
- Selection and records of personal protective equipment
- Arranging medical examinations for employees in high-risk workplaces
- Keeping the records required by law and regulations
- Workplace injury procedure: reporting, injury report and cause analysis
- Engagement of an external occupational safety and health officer, permanently or as needed
- Preparation for inspections and follow-up on labour inspectors' orders
Equipment inspections and working-environment testing
Inspections and checks of work equipment and testing of working-environment conditions (microclimate, lighting, noise, chemical and other hazards) are carried out by legal entities licensed for this work. We arrange them through authorised partners: we agree the date, follow the work and enter the findings in the records and in the risk assessment act.
We keep track of re-inspection deadlines and remind you before a period runs out, not when an inspector asks for the report.
Who we work for
- Fuel stations and fuel depots, where fire and explosion risks overlap with fuel transfer and tank work
- Dairies and food-processing plants with boiler rooms, refrigeration systems and cleaning chemicals
- Industry, workshops and warehouses with machinery, forklifts and work at height
- Field crews in construction, utilities and servicing
- Smaller companies and sole traders who need someone to put the paperwork in order and keep it that way
How we start
- Company detailsSend your line of business, number of employees, list of workplaces and locations, and any documents you already have.
- Site visitWe review the workplaces, equipment and the existing risk assessment act and identify what is missing or out of date.
- QuoteYou receive the scope, deadlines and price for a one-off job or for ongoing engagement.
- Work and follow-upWe prepare the documents, run the training and keep the records and deadlines for as long as we work together.
- Does a small company also need a risk assessment act?
Yes. A written risk assessment act covering all workplaces is mandatory for every employer, regardless of the number of employees.
- When does the risk assessment act need to be amended?
When a new hazard appears or the level of risk changes, for example after new equipment is bought or technology or work organisation change. An act prepared under earlier regulations should be reviewed and brought in line with the 2023 law and the regulations adopted under it.
- Who carries out equipment inspections and working-environment testing?
Legal entities licensed for this work. We arrange the inspections through authorised partners, track the deadlines and keep the findings in the records.
- Can you act as an external occupational safety and health officer?
Yes. An employer without its own employee for this work can assign it by contract to an external provider. The scope and terms are agreed after reviewing the business, the number of employees and the workplaces.
- What happens when a workplace injury occurs?
The injury is reported and an injury report is drawn up in the prescribed way, and fatal, serious or collective injuries are reported to the labour inspectorate and the police immediately. We help with the whole procedure and the cause analysis, so the same thing does not happen again.
Do you need a risk assessment or a safety officer? Send your line of business, number of employees and location, and you will receive a proposed scope and a quote.
